Underfloor heating is quickly becoming a popular option for heating a house.  There are several reasons that contribute to the growing popularity of underfloor heating which range from cost to comfort.

One reason that underfloor heating is so popular is that it provides a great deal of flexibility.  It hardly matters what type of room you want to heat, there is some type of underfloor heating system that can be used to accomplish the task.  Systems range from simple mats that can easily be laid to inscreed cable.  It also does not matter what type of floor finish you wish to have as underfloor heating is compatible with virtually anything.

The heat that is given off by an underfloor system is typically much more pleasant than that of a radiator.  This is because a large portion of this type of heat is radiant heat which means objects in the room are heated as well.  If you are sitting on the couch, you will notice it is nice and cosy.  Radiators give off a great deal of convection heat which means that the air around the object is being heated instead.  In many cases, underfloor heating will allow you to set your thermostat at a lower temperature simply because the room feels warmer.

If your home has high ceilings, underfloor heating is a great option.  As the warm air is rising from the floor the room temperature will stay much warmer.  This will require the use of less energy which makes it a very cost-effective heating option as well.
